Accepting and Declining A Student Loan

Student Loan Entrance Counseling

If you are a first-time borrower at The University of Mississippi Medical Center, then you must complete loan entrance counseling per federal regulations.

If you have completed student loan entrance counseling at another institution, then you still MUST COMPLETE the student loan entrance counseling at UMC.  Student Loan Entrance Counseling does NOT transfer from one school to the next school.

 

Exit Counseling for Federal Stafford Student Loan

Federal regulations require all Federal Stafford Loan borrowers who are graduating or leaving the institution to complete loan exit counseling. 

If you have completed student loan exit counseling at another institution, then you still MUST COMPLETE the student loan exit counseling at UMC.  Student Loan Exit Counseling does NOT transfer from one school to the next school.

 

Institutional Exit Counseling

Institutional Student Loans, Institutional Service Scholarships, and Federal Campus-based Student Loans require exit counseling with the Office of Student Loans.  You will need to contact the Office of Student Loans at 601-984-1035 for your exit counseling.
