1. Apply for a Personal Identification Number (PIN) online at www.pin.ed.gov. This will serve as your electronic signature on your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). If you are a dependent student, have your parent apply for a PIN which will serve as your parent’s electronic signature on your FAFSA.
2. File the FAFSA online at www.fafsa.ed.gov using UMC’s Federal School Code number 004688. You must enter this code in the appropriate section of your FAFSA. Without it your application will not be processed on a timely basis and may not receive priority consideration. The priority packaging deadline date is March 31st.
3. Complete Entrance Counseling If you are a first-time borrower at The University of Mississippi Medical Center, then you must complete loan entrance counseling per federal regulations.
4. Financial Aid Award Notification Financial Aid Award Notifications will be mailed beginning in April to accepted and enrolled Students who have met the priority packaging deadline date. The Financial Aid Award Notification identifies the type(s) of financial aid the student is eligible to receive. Awards will be made based on student eligibility and availability of funding. You will need to return all required documentation, signed and dated, to the Office of Student Financial Aid within 14 days of receipt.
