September
through
March

Apply for admission for the upcoming academic year. Complete the general scholarship application for automatic consideration of academic and endowed scholarships. You will want to seek additional scholarships from the schools during this time as well.

December

Obtain a copy of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The FAFSA will allow you to participate in all federal funding programs for which you are eligible.

January 1

First date to complete the FAFSA or Renewal FAFSA. Do not sign or submit prior to this date. If you complete it on the Web, do not submit a paper application. This is also the first date to submit the online state grant application (such as the MTAG/MESG application) with the state of Mississippi.

February 15

Last day to request adjustments for current academic year.

February 28

Priority deadline for submission of the FAFSA for the upcoming academic year. School Code 004688.

March 31

Priority deadline for a completed FAFSA application. This means that the FAFSA was filed and received by The University of Mississippi Medical Center Office of Financial Aid by February 28th, and you have submitted all required verification documentation if necessary.

April 30

Deadline for On-Line Exit Counseling--Student Loans

May 1

Deadline for Institutional Loans Exit Counseling--UMMC Student Loans Office

May 31

Billing date for summer charges. Aid will credit to the student account beginning one day before class. If you have been fully awarded and your financial aid package has been completed, you can subtract your listed summer aid from your bill to determine how much you will need to pay. If you have not been fully awarded or you are expecting additional aid, be sure to stay in touch with the Office of Financial Aid in case requirements are needed.

July 31

Billing date for fall charges. Aid will credit to the student account beginning one day before class. Final deadline for MTAG/MESG application with the state of Mississippi. Remember that continuing students must also file a renewal application each year.

Final Deadline for current year SDS application packet.  All required documents must be submitted by close of business.
