BILLING
In general, tuition and other assessments are billed approximately two to three weeks prior to the start of the term. Your bill will include any known financial aid information as of the billing date. You should review your bill and make whatever arrangements are necessary to pay the bill on time, including any adjustments that need to be made to financial aid awards. Payment is due at the beginning of the term. Each academic term has a payment deadline. It is your responsibility to monitor your account to ensure payment by the deadline or that you have adequate financial aid awarded to pay for all charges. Failure to make payment or aid arrangements by the deadline may result in a $50 late fee. If you have not paid your tuition balance, then you may not register for or attend classes for a subsequent term until your account has been paid. To have you hold immediately released, a payment for a delinquent account should be made by cash, money order, or certified bank check. Payment by credit card is available; however, there will be a 3-5 day delay in releasing the hold. Delinquent accounts paid by personal check will remain on hold until the check has cleared which is usually a minimum of three weeks. Graduate programs in the basic sciences, nursing, and clinical health sciences are billed only before the term if the student pre-registers. Students who register during the days set aside for registration at the beginning of the term are required to process through Student Accounting to determine the tuition charges and the payment deadline. After the initial bill is mailed for a term, another bill is mailed after registration is complete. A student who has started classes and has not received a bill must contact the Office of Student Accounting. Additional bills are mailed until the account is paid. Failure to pay the account can result in the account being reported to credit bureaus and outside collection agencies. All collection costs which may be 40% of the balance owed are charged to the student’s account and are the responsibility of the student.
